Job description:

Rare opportunity to coincide with the owner's retirement plans. Based in Vancouver, BC, Alpha Anchor & Pile Ltd offers a diverse range of marine services both above and below water. Primarily we specialize in dredging, anchoring, pile driving and buoyancy installations. We have three support vessels and two work barges. We are looking for someone with good mechanical/construction skills and qualifications. Opportunities for career advancement ( including an equity component) will be a feature of this position.

The job requires the following qualifications
1. At least five years work experience in a leadership role. Mechanical/construction/engineering skills would be a big advantage.
Surface supplied diving certification (Canadian Standards) to at least 30 meters. (We may consider applicants without this certification).
3. Boat handling certification and experience.
4. Be a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident.
The successful candidate would need to :
1. be (very specifically) someone who can work independently and who only needs the minimum of supervision.
2. be resourceful and think laterally to solve any problems as they arise.
3. have good general knowledge of dive systems, engineering, construction and mechanics (including hydraulics).
4. be able to ensure all the relevant equipment needed for any job is maintained and available.
5. remain engaged and have excellent situational awareness.
6. be able to ensure that all employees comply with the relevant health and safety regulations.
